AIMHO College: AIMHO College is a pre-conference that provides an opportunity for new professionals within the region to improve functional skills, gain self-awareness, network, and gain a greater understanding of the University Housing profession in an informal environment designed to foster connections among participants and nationally/regionally acclaimed professionals and faculty members.  The estimated committee size is 11.

AIMHO 365: Responsible for supporting AIMHO’s Core Association Goal to “provide year-round learning opportunities for all individual members within the region.”  Committee members will develop and engage the webinar series, the SHO Forum during the annual conference, and promote association and state-sponsored professional development opportunities via social media outlets and the association newsletter (The Angle) and website.

Awards and Recognition Committee: Responsible for developing and initiating recognition of regional member institutions and employees for outstanding performance and contributions. The primary responsibility is to help advertise, collect nominations, and select recipients for awards that recognize new professionals all the way to tenured staff.  Responsible for the continued development of the AIMHO history booth and recognition of the AIMHO Sage.  The estimated committee size is 10.

Diversity and Social Justice Committee: Responsible for keeping the region abreast of and engaged with diversity and social justice issues, including but not limited to ability, ethnicity, gender identify or expression, race, religion/spirituality, sexual orientation, and socio-economic status.   The estimated committee size is 12.

Marketing Committee: Responsible for producing materials that represent the region, including the AIMHO Angle Newsletter.  Additionally, the Marketing  Committee has oversight of the association’s social media accounts, including Facebook and Twitter.  The estimated committee size is 10.

Program Committee: Responsible for soliciting programs and developing the structure of the annual AIMHO conference.  In addition, the Program Committee coordinates AIMHO Connections, the Newcomer's Orientation, the Case Study competition, and the selection of the keynote speaker.  Committee members serve as liaisons for the program presenters during the conference.  NOTE: Committee members will not attend the AIMHO summer meeting but are required to attend the annual conference. In addition, duie to the demanding pre-conference schedule, members of the Programming Committee are not able to participate in pre-conference workshops such as AIMHO College and the SHO Institute.  The estimated committee size is 20.

Assessment and Information: Responsible for developing regional specific data, surveys, and information.  The committee also enhances assessment, research, and evaluation competencies throughout the region and disseminates research and reporting efforts from ACUHO-I.  The estimated committee size is 5.

SHO Institute: Responsible for developing the regional institute geared for new and aspiring senior housing officers.  Committee members ideally are senior housing officers.  The estimated committee size is 5.

State and Provincial Representative: Represents the association through outreach to schools within the SPR’s state/province.  Shares updates from the association, updates contact list, gathers information from contacts, and leads roundtable discussions during annual conference.  SPR’s are elected for a two-year term in the following manner:  AZ, CO, MT, and ID (elected on even numbered years) NV, CO, NM, UT, WY and SK (elected on odd numbered years). Colorado has two Representatives, one elected each year.

Call For Committee Volunteers

 Volunteerism is the lifeblood of AIMHO. In addition to contributing to our profession, serving on any of the AIMHO committees allows you to develop your professional skills as well as get to know some of the other amazing individuals in the region.

How To Apply For A Chair/co-chair Position?
The Chair / Co-Chair application and the Call for Committee Volunteers are both online. 
The Call for Volunteers to serve as committee members WILL NOT be handed out in paper format during the annual conference.  The application link will remain open during and shortly after the annual conference for individuals to continue to obtain approval to serve the region. 

Length Of Service
Committees would begin their year of service January 1 and their last day of service would be December 31.
Individuals who are selected Mid-Year and who may be interested in continuing to serve in a leadership capacity, would need to reapply for the Chair or Co-Chair role during the regular cycle for the following year.
