Meet Your SPRs

Hey Colorado !! I am you State Rep (for half of you that is!) My name is Sara Burst and I am the Area Coordinator for Residential Life and Housing at Colorado College. I have been here at CC for 3-years and was previously at Saint Louis University, and before that at the University of Northern Colorado. I have been a part of this great region for three years—one on the Program Committee, one on the Awards and Recognition Committee, and now—serving you!   I am very excited about the new State Representative positions and am looking forward to getting to know you more, and helping you stay connected with AIMHO (and AIMHO stay connected with you!).

As the SPR for the wonderful state of Montana, Jeff hails from Washington State where he attended Central Washington University. During his time at CWU he was actively involved in residence life serving as a resident assistant and student government representative. He graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Community Health Education and went on to graduate school at Colorado State University where he graduated with his Masters of Science in Student Affairs in Higher Education. Living by the motto “Step Up, Work Hard, and Make a Difference” Jeff continuously strives to make an impact on the development of students during their collegiate experience. In his spare time he enjoys outdoor recreation including bike riding, hiking and camping; and likes to cook and read to get rid of stress.  Jeff looks forward to hearing from member schools about what is important to them and act as a liaison to AIMHO. Welcome to Big Sky Country!

Your New Mexico representative, Ruth Stoddard, is the new Associate Director of Residential Education at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. Prior to this role, Ruth served as the Director of Residential Life at New Mexico Tech. She has been affiliated with the AIMHO region for over eight years. She has also spent seven years in the UMR region and four years in the NWACUHO region prior to returning to her home AIMHO region. Ruth has served on numerous regional committees and is thrilled to be serving the institutions of New Mexico as the State Representative for AIMHO. Ruth enjoys dining out with friends, attending movies, playing with her dog, and working on craft projects at home.

I am Julie Franklin and I am serving as your Utah Representative.  I grew up in Massachusetts and came to Utah to attend school. After a short and adventurous stint in Alaska I settled in a full-time position at BYU for what I thought was going to be a short-term job. That was twenty years ago and it has been a skill stretching and fun association ever since. I have been the Director of Residence Life for twelve years and am privileged to work with the best people at the institution. Aside from that role I am married to an extraordinarily supportive man and we have four children who have forced us into chauffer service! Keeping up with all of them makes me smile. I look forward to serving you and with you...
